This department was born in September 2010 with a student population of 60 and staff strength of two (2). The student population has currently grown to 191. The staff strength is now twenty-five (25); Two (2) full time Professors, six (6) Senior Lecturers (adjuncts), eight (8) full-time lecturers, two (2) graduate assistants and seven (7) technical staff.
Each lecturer has a personal computer and each student has personal computer which is aiding their information dissemination, academic and practical improvements.
PHILOSOPHY AND OBJECTIVES OF ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING PROGRAMME
The purpose of B.Eng. (Electrical/Electronic Engineering) degree programme is to produce competent Engineers with high Engineering ethics. This will be achieved through the familiarization of students with the basic theoretical and practical tools and techniques required for excellent performance in their future professional work.
- To provide a highly motivated academic environment that encourages the academically minded to pursue further studies and research in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- To develop role models in the engineering profession and manpower for the country.
- To contribute to the supply of academic and professional Electrical/Electronic Engineers both for Nigerian Universities and Industries.
