Directorate of Information Technology manages the ABUAD Data Centre and delivers hosted server, storage, virtualization, database, email, and related systems, in addition to connecting the Afe Babalola University campuses to the world via high-speed data, video, Wi-Fi, telecommunications, and VoIP services.
Adebayo Tunbosun Ogundipe is an erudite faculty and Director of Information Communication Technology, Afe Babalola University, Ado – Ekiti (ABUAD) – A model, benchmark, reference point and fastest growing private university in Africa (www.abuad.edu.ng). He graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Computer Science from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, has Masters in Business Administration with specialization in Information System Management and currently undertaking his doctor of philosophy (PhD) in Management with specialization in Information System Management at the College of Management and Technology, Walden University, Baltimore, USA.
I am a professional member of the following bodies vis: Computer Professional Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN), Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), Institute of Strategic Management, Nigeria (ISMN), National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) among many others.
Mr. Ogundipe is proficient in the use of 21st Century technology tools for cloud computing, virtualization, ubiquitous computing, wearable deployment, web development, networking and database management and skillful in writing programs with Java, C and C++, Visual Basic, Pascal, Fortran, COBOL, HTML, XML among many others.
I have professional certifications in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Oracle Certified 11g Administrator, Oracle Database SQL Certified Expert, ComptiA certification among many others.
I was the Head of Department; Information and Communication Technology of Ekiti State Basic Education Board managing the boards IT infrastructure, engaged in computerization of its services(Payroll, Human Resources, Asset Management, GIS management of the schools across the state) and managed the board’s database and for a period of 6years (January 2001 to August, 2007) before my appointment as the Principal ICT Consultant and Executive Assistant to the Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Ekiti State under the Ekiti State Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, Ado – Ekiti for more than three (August, 2007 to September 2010)
I was appointed the executive secretary (ICT Business and Management) by the ICT Consultancy firm – Midet Global Resources and saddled with responsibility of marketing IT and also partnering with other ICT firms on outsourcing platforms (September, 2010 to April, 2012)
In like manner, while I was the director, ABUAD Integrated Resources; a centre that deals in rendering e-services, ICT Skill Acquisition and innovative business management to Afe Babalola University and the entire country. Our operations spanned organizing computer based test for the University and Joint Admission and Matriculation Board Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, processing of the University Post UTME examination, ICT capacity building, networking and software development. We developed bespoke examination processing software for the University and design the university webdomain among many others. A position I occupied for six months (June 2014 to December, 2014). I was the Business Development Manager (ICT) for the ABUAD Integrated service for a period of One year and seven months (April, 2012 - June, 2014). During this period, I was appointed as part time lecturer in the Computer Science department of the Federal Polytechnics, Ado – Ekiti teaching students courses like System Programming, Programming with Java, Common Business Oriented Language COBOL, Fortran programming, introduction to Web development among many others (June 2012 to September 2015)
However, As a faculty in the Computer Science department of Afe Babalola University, I have taught and still teaching students computer courses.
When seconded as the Director, Information Communication Technology, I oversee and manage the Information Technology Services of the University ranging from networking administration, web administration, infrastructure management and security, performs oversight function on the University data centre for efficiency and effectiveness. A position I have occupied for about one year (December 2014 to Date)
I was the Chief Mentor of Team Nigeria and led the Team Nigeria (Team LifeWatch - comprises of Afe Babalola University students) to this year’s 2015 edition of Microsoft Imagine Cup competition to present a health care technological solution called Asthmavisor that will manage Asthma patients since there is no known cure for Asthma. Our solution will assist in reducing morbidity rate thereby reducing the mortality rate and in-turns increase life expectancy. (July 2015)
