ADMISSION OF CANDIDATES VIA DIRECT ENTRY OR 2014/2015 UTME EXAMINATION

FOR THE ATTENTION OF CANDIDATES WHO DID NOT CHOOSE AFE BABALOLA UNIVERSITY IN THE 2014 UNIFIED TERTIATY MATRICULATION EXAMINATION (UTME) REGISTRATION.

Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti gives entry opportunities to both the candidates who chose ABUAD and those who did not choose it in the UTME Registration, but intend to change their choice of Institution to Afe Babalola University.

Candidates who intend to seek admission to Afe Babalola University but had not chosen it in UTME registration are however required to:

i)                   Obtain a Change of Institution Form at designated selling Centres along with the Post UTME Screeenig Form

ii)                 Sastify a Post-UTME Screening Exercise

FOR THOSE WHO DID NOT CHOOSE ABUAD IN THE FIRST INSTANCE, CERTAINLY, HOPE IS NOT LOST.


GENERAL INFORMATION

Afe Babalola University (ABUAD) situated in Ado Ekiti is a non profit, Federal Government licensed private University. All programmes offered in ABUAD are approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC). The University is fully residential for all Students and Staff.

Philosophy and Mission: To reform and provide functional education by example and lead others in quality education, industry, service, character and discipline.

Approval: All programmes offered in colleges of Law, Engineering, Medicine, Social and Management Sciences and Sciences have been approved by the National Universities Commission.

Teaching facilities on ground: Fully furnished air-conditioned classrooms; 14 separate laboratories for Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Physiology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Research, Nursing, Mechatronics, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Histology and Anatomy; virtual and physical libraries, LexisNexis, academic on-line e-library, Law Pavilion e-library and Compul Law e-library; Interconnectivity for all colleges and hostels; modern sporting facilities for soccer, tennis, handball, volley ball, badminton and so on.

Apart from UTME, Direct Entry admission is also available for all courses listed below except Law, Medicine and Surgery, and Nursing .

Five O' Level Credits passes to include English Language, Lit. in English and Mathematics at one sitting.

Admission Requirements.

a) For B.Ed Chemistry: Five O' Level Credit passes in Mathematics, Chemistry, English Language and two of Physics, Biology and Agric. Science.

b) B.Ed Computer Science: Five O' Level Credit passes which must include Mathematics and English.

c) For B.Ed Business Administration: Five O' Level or NTC/NBC Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics plus three other Subjects.

UTME Subjects:

a) For B.Ed Chemistry: Chemistry and two other subjects from Physics, Biology and Mathematics.

b) For B.Ed Computer Science and Sports Science: Mathematics, Physics and one of Chemistry, Biology and Geography/ Physics.

For Medicine and Surgery and Nursing Science,

Candidates must possess a minimum of five O' level credit passes in one sitting including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology.

 

Others: A minimum of five O' level credit passes in one sitting or six O' level credit passes in two sittings including the above listed subjects.

i. Candidates who wish to come through Direct Entry should obtain direct entry form from JAMB.

ii. Admission into ABUAD for Non Direct Entry Candidates is subject to successful passing of the UTME examination and the Post-UTME screening.

 

III. Candidates awaiting SSSCE results or it's equivalent can also apply for admission provided the result will be available at resumption in September, 2014.

CHANGE OF INSTITUTION

Candidates who did not choose Afe-Babalola University (ABUAD) in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) are also qualified to participate in the Post UTME screening of the University and contact the Registrar.

Please note that Application Forms will also be available on the day of screening  at the various screening centers.

PRE-DEGREE PROGRAMME (9 Months)

Admission Requirements:

Candidates must possess a minimum of five [5] 'O' level credit   passes at one sitting or six [6] 'O' level credit passes at not more than two sittings in  SSCE/GCE/NECO Examinations which must include credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and other subjects relevant to course of study.

 

DEGREE FOUNDATION PROGRAMME (12 Months)

Admission Requirements:

Candidates must possess a minimum of five [5] 'O' level credit passes at one sitting in SSCE/GCE/NECO Examinations which must include credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and other subjects relevant to course of study.
