  •  Visit by Ag. Provost, Federal College of Agriculture, Ibadan and his entourage to explore areas of collaboration in Agric. Engineering and Mechanical Engineering between ABUAD and Federal College of Agriculture. 3rd February, 2014.
  • Visit by The Medical Laboratory Science Council, 5th February, 2014.
  • Certificate Programme in Social Justice Sponsored by the Nigeria Police, 10th February, 2014.
  • The 4th Aare Afe Babalola Annual Lecture organized by the Nigerian Bar Association, Ado Ekiti Branch as part of activities marking its Annual Law Week was held on May 9th 2014 with the topic: “Professional Ethics and The Future of Legal Profession in Nigeria” with our College of Law participating fully.
  • Certifications and Awards for the Founder: “Titan of Marketing” by the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria, October, 2014; “Life Patron and Fellow” by the Nigerian Society for Financial Research, July, 2014.

The College of Law in Collaboration with ABUAD Consult successfully trained fifty (50) sponsored, high level civil servants from the Ministry of Police Affairs in February, 2014.

  •  The Provost, College of Law was elected the President of the Nigerian Association of Law Teachers 2014 - 2015 and the College of Law is the current Headquarters of the Association, thus making Afe Babalola University Ado-Ekiti the 1st private University to be so honoured.
  • The University successfully played host to the UNESCO Regional Management Retreat held between 8th and 12th September 2014 where the Founder was described as a Nigerian, an African and a global citizen.
  • The Provost, College of Law and Dr. Abdulsalam Ajetunmobi, a Senior Lecturer in the College, represented the Founder in Oxford to receive the prestigious Award of the Best 2014 University, by the Oxford Summit of Leaders, in Oxford 14th October, 2014.
  • Staff development programme: A total of ₦8,521,255.00 has been spent between November 2013 and September 2014.
  •  The College of Law through Prof. C. C. Ohuruogu and the Ag. Provost, Ass. Prof. E. S. Olarinde efforts secured scholarships from the Ministry of Niger Delta (The Amnesty Programme) for over one hundred and ten (110) students who were admitted into various departments in the Afe Babalola University, Ado – Ekiti 2014/2015 academic session.
  • Full accreditation of the LL.B Programme by both the National Universities Commission (NUC) and Council of Legal Education (CLE).
  •  Council of Legal Education Special Recognition of Excellent Teamwork, beautiful environment/cleanliness/neatness and innovative academic programme in the College which earned the College the increase in its admission quota from eighty (80) to one hundred and eighty (180).
  •     A number of Universities visited ABUAD as recommended to them by the NUC and other Educational Regulatory bodies in Nigeria to understudy our Programmes and Programme Structure. Adeleke University visited the University on 14th January, 2014. Benson Idahosa University also visited on 13th February, 2014, University of Benin, June 2014, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, November 2014, JABU, Ikeji Ara keji, December 2014.
  •     Nursery & Primary School (with Creche) established in the 2014/2015 Session.
  •     Fidelity Bank and Wema Bank opened for banking operation in ABUAD in the beginning of the 2014/2015 Academic Session.
  •  Courtesy visit and lecture by the President Nigerian Bar Association Mr. Okey Wali, SAN, President of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) with a delegation of distinguished members of NEC and Bar leaders to Afe Babalola University Ado-Ekiti on 6th of March, 2014. During the visit the National Chairman of Nigerian Bar Association addressed law students at the Law College Auditorium. It was a very interesting interactive session.
  • The Presidential Special Adviser on Niger Delta and Coordinator of the Amnesty (In Collaboration with the Ministry of Niger-Delta Amnesty Office) from Abuja visited the University between Sunday 8th and Tuesday 10th of June, 2014 at the instance of the College of Law to explore possible areas of collaboration between the Ministry and the University.
  • The Delegates of the International Committee of the RED CROSS (ICRC) visited Afe Babalola University on Monday 5th May, 2014. The ICRC Head of Mission, Mr. Zoran Jovanovic and Ms. Sybil Tonne Sagay delivered lectures to law students.  During Sagay’s lecture titled “International Humanitarian Law,” Students learned about the importance of humanitarian services to victims of arm conflicts and the role of law during wars.  Many volumes of books and relevant reading materials were donated to the law students and the College of Law.
  • The Managing Director of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, Mr. Heinz Stockhausen visited ABUAD and addressed the Students at the College of Law Auditorium on the 2nd of April, 2014. Instituted a Professorial Chair in Engineering. In the realm of infrastructures, the university built a multi-billion Naira five-star Guest House, the gigantic Talent Discovery Centre where 29 different vocations and games could be learnt.
  •     Young Farmers’ Club visited ABUAD on Friday 21st November, 2014.
  • Maiden Certificate Programme in Social Justice: ABUAD Consult in conjunction with College of Law organized a five day Certificate Course in Social Justice from Monday, 10th to Friday, 14th February, 2014 for Senior Staff of the Ministry of Police Affairs. The participants were drawn from various Departments and Units of the Ministry.
  • The 29th Annual Conference of the Association of Vice Chancellors of Nigerian Universities was successfully hosted by Afe Babalola University, Ado – Ekiti, from 1st to 5th June, 2014. The 5 – day Conference with the theme “Pathways to Sustainable Education in Nigeria” had in attendance 68 Vice Chancellors from the Federal, State and Private Universities. The Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, Prof. Julius Okojie, presided over the opening ceremony and technical sessions while the Founder, Aare Afe Babalola, SAN delivered a well – articulated keynote address.

ECBE (European Council for Business Education), an international not – for – profit educational organization committed to supporting academic and professional learning institutions in business and related fields.

Afe Babalola University furthered its affiliation with the European Council for Business Education, ECBE recently by participating in presenting a paper, jointly written by Prof. E.O. Ademola and Dr. A.O. Ajetunmobi, at the ECBE’s 19th Annual Conference in Edinburgh, Scotland from 29th May to 1st June, 2014.
Law School, University of Strathclyde Glasgow, United Kingdom and College of Law Afe Babalola University Ado-Ekiti Partnership. Dr. Hakeem Yusuf, the representative of the University of Strathclyde Law School, Glasgow, United Kingdom visited the College of Law and the University between 19th and 21st of March, 2014 in order to foster linkage and capacity building program with the University in general and the College in particular. A Memorandum of Understanding establishing collaborative partnership between the two Colleges of Law is being worked out. The College of Law through the Provost, Ass. Prof. E. Smaranda Olarinde and Dr. A. Ajetunmobi, initiated the Law School, University of Strathclyde Glasgow, United Kingdom and College of Law and Afe Babalola University Ado-Ekiti Partnership.

  • MOU with IITA: Reappraisal and bilateral exchange of Principal Officers took place.
  • MOU with Federal Government of Nigeria to use the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido Ekiti for the training of Medical and Paramedical Students of the College of Medical Sciences of Afe Babalola, Ado Ekiti on Saturday 15th November, 2014.
