The OGEES Institute, Afe Babalola University, has been appointed as a partner research and training Institute by the Strathmore Extractives Industries Institute, (SEIC) Kenya. SEIC is an autonomous oil, gas and mining research center based at the Strathmore University, Kenya. Under this strategic partnership, OGEES Institute and SEIC will work together with industry leaders, corporations and stakeholders in Kenya to deliver training, research and consultancy services on mining, oil and gas.

In his reaction, the Director of the OGEES Institute, Afe Babalola University, Dr. Damilola Olawuyi noted that "this partnership with SEIC recognizes the leadership of Afe Babalola University and the OGEES Institute as the topmost energy research and traning center in Nigeria. It provides unique opportunities for us to share our expertise and resources with SEIC, and for some of our leading researchers to go over to East Africa and support SEIC's growing expertise in mining, oil and gas. This is just the begining of a bright future for both SEIC and OGEES"
