INFORMATION AND REQUIREMENTS FOR FRESH AND RETURNING UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS, 2022/2023 ACADEMIC SESSION
The primary objective of the University is to nurture students who will be able to impact positively not only on their immediate environment but also on the larger society.
Therefore an essential element of the actualization of the University’s objectives is the identification and admission of students who owing to their ascertainable academic competence and demonstrated innate personal qualities are best suited to imbibe and put into practice the principles of hard work and excellence for which the Founder is renowned and upon which the University has come into existence.
ABUAD is committed to offering equal opportunities to prospective students irrespective of creed, religion, race, political affiliation or financial status. Indeed the University’s Endowment Fund in addition to the provision of scholarships to deserving students already ensures that the cost of the qualitative education available at the University is highly subsidized.
PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS – REQUIREMENTS
- PLACEMENT INTO DEGREE PROGRAMMES
- Placement into Degree Programmes is based on performance at the UTME, post-UTME screening, satisfaction of the O’Level requirements as stated on JAMB brochure for courses and the number of spaces available in the particular programme.
- RESUMPTION AND REGISTRATION FOR UTME, DIRECT-ENTRY AND INTER-UNIVERSITY TRANSFER CANDIDATES.
- The 2022/2023 Academic Session commences as follows;
Fresh Undergraduates
- Monday, 19th September, 2022- College of Engineering
- Tuesday, 20st September, 2022- College of Law
- Wednesday, 21st September, 2022-College of Medicine and Health Sciences
- Thursday, 22nd September, 2022- College of Sciences/ College of Pharmacy
- Friday, 23rd September, 2022- College of Social and Management Sciences
Note: No returning students will be allowed to enter the university during this period while all fresh students should STRICTLY abide by the above schedule.
- Fresh Undergraduates Orientation Programme
Orientation Programme for Fresh Undergraduates commences Monday, 26th September, 2022 and ends Wednesday, 28th September, 2022.

Note: All returning students should STRICTLY abide by the above schedule
- EACH FRESH UNDERGRADUATE IS EXPECTED TO PRESENT THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS AT THE POINT OF INTERACTIVE AND SCREENING EXERCISE:
- Provisional Admission Letter
- Birth Certificate
- Current UTME Result
- Candidates who did not make ABUAD their first choice of institution in Jamb are to visit any JAMB CBT Center or JAMB Office to make the change and present evidence at registration (JAMB Change of Institution Slip).
- O/L Result :
- NOTE: JAMB result is only valid for a year.
- Colleges of Law and Medicine & Surgery shall accept five O’ Level Credits (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB) results at one (1) sitting only.
- For other Programmes, Five O’ Level Credits (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB) results at one sitting or Six Credit Passes at not more than Two Sittings are acceptable.
- 20 copies of passport photographs.
- A letter of undertaking by the Candidate’s Parent/Sponsor and a letter of guarantee by a Christian Clergy or Muslim Cleric, with their telephone numbers guaranteeing good behavior and compliance with the University’s Rules and Regulations.
- A sworn Affidavit by the student giving information about his/her name, address, e-mail address and name, phone number and e-mail address of parents in question in a High Court of Justice is required at the point of Registration.
- Original copies of the candidate’s credentials will be sighted while photocopies will be submitted.
- PAYMENT OF SCHOOL FEES
- Candidates who are offered Provisional Admission are expected to present Online Payment Receipt
- Details of school fees for 2022/2023 Academic Session and how to make online payment/bank branch payment will be made available on the University Website (www.abuad.edu.ng)

- MODE OF DRESSING
Afe Babalola University places heavy premium on the appearance of all Staff as well as all Students within and outside the University.
The following are the prescribed dress codes for all students;
College of Law:
- White on Black and corporate black covered shoes.
- Trousers and all black dresses are not allowed for Female Law Students.
- Male Law Students shall wear either ABUAD ties or all black non- patterned ties.
College of Medicine and Health Sciences:
- Red on matching colour of trousers.
- Male students shall wear either ABUAD ties or any tie of matching colour.
College of Engineering:
- Leaf green on matching colour of trousers.
- Male students shall wear either ABUAD ties or any tie of matching colour.
College of Sciences:
- Cream on matching colour of trousers.
- Male students shall wear either ABUAD ties or any tie of matching colour.
College of Social and Management Sciences:
- Sky- Blue on matching colour of trousers.
- Male students shall wear either ABUAD ties or any tie of matching colour.
College of Pharmacy:
- Lilac-Purple on black colour of trousers.
- Male students shall wear either ABUAD tie/Purple tie colour.
Laboratory Wears:
- College of Medicine and Health Sciences: White Overall
- College of Pharmacy: White Overall
- College of Sciences: White Overall
- College of Engineering: Navy Blue Overall
8.STUDENTS HAIRDRESS AND MAKEUP
- Female students are not allowed to wear outrageous hairstyles and heavy makeups.
- Only decent and moderate hairstyles and makeup are allowed.
- Male students must have well-trimmed haircut and must be clean shaven at all time.
All Students are mandated to:
- Abide by the University dress codes.
- Dress formally during school hours (8am-3pm), Monday-Friday. However, all Students shall dress decently at all times.
- All Male Students shall wear ABUAD tie while Female Students shall wear ABUAD scarves to all University Official functions.
- Wearing of Jeans may be allowed after school hours and weekends provided they are clean and not defaced.
- Students are expected to adhere strictly to the World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines on Covid-19 preventive measures at all times.
- STUDENTS ON MEDICATION
- It is mandatory for Parents to disclose their ward’s health status and prescribed medications. Chronic, genetic or other long term ailments shall be carefully monitored by the University Multi-System Hospital to assist Students achieve best academic and overall results. Therefore, Parents are enjoined to cooperate with the University Management in this regard.
- HALLS OF RESIDENCE REQUIREMENTS
The following are the minimum required items that a student may need during his/her stay in the Hall of Residence:

- VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- Mobile Phone; the University would allow students to use telephone but prohibited during School Hours.
- Capturing of Identity Card must be done before permission into the Hall of Residence.
- Students must duly comply with the ABUAD Residency Agreement before room allocation into the Halls of Residence
- All parents/ guardians must duly complete the Indemnity Form before the allocation of rooms into the Halls of Residence for their ward is made and return to the Registry upon completion.
NOTE: Students should pack their provisions’ bag separately and clothing’s bags separately, otherwise you shall not be attended to at the gate during resumption.
