Welcome to the homepage of the Middle East and Africa Imagine Cup Finals – Lebanon 2017.
This year, the MEA Finals are being held in collaboration with the U.S. Department of State’s Global Innovation through Science and Technology (GIST) initiative.

Since 2014 Microsoft and its partners have been supporting Middle East and Africa student-talents through the MEA Finals. This offers a unique and complementary platform specially designed to reveal new IT talent and ideas from the region, that have the power to change the world. The finals will be held in Beirut from 18 to 20 May 2017.

BZU-Monsters, West Bank Gaza
Cardiac diseases historically result in the highest rate of human death. Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging is considered to be the golden standard used in the diagnosis and prognosis of these diseases. The aim of this project is to use CMR images to assess the end-systolic and end-diastolic volumes in an automated way. These are the basal figures that every cardiac global function parameter can be deduced from, and will help cardiologists to save more people’s lives.
DocStroke, Jordan
DocStroke aims to provide a cheap technique to determine the risks of stroke, using ocular image processing and machine learning, which any rural medical institution could afford. This will help medical workers to be aware of the onset of a stroke in their patients, and prevent the stroke from happening as severely.
Crystal Ball, Turkey
Crystal Ball is a software project that can increase sales for companies by using artificially intelligent technologies with Microsoft Azure. Firstly, Crystal Ball will analyse your old customer data and create profiles for all your customers. Then, by using information such as pre-order details and customer information, Crystal Ball will offer you customer insight for improved sales activities. Crystal Ball will also track your employees’s working style and analyse it to give you a more efficient workplace and make it easy to follow your business strategy.

The team developed a cyber tool that detects terrorist groups on Twitter.
Positive Zero, Pakistan
Project “Speak to Code”, as the name suggests, enables programmers/developers to write code or develop applications using their natural voice. This will innovate the mechanism of programming, as it will become “interactive programming” and will increase the productivity of programmers/developers.
Noctrune, Kuwait
“Artopia” is a location-based application in which users can create 3D paintings in augmented reality and save them in the real world for others to see.
Team Influx, Bahrain
“GLARE” is a suite packaged with an immersive experience. It is a UWP and a heart rate monitor based solution, which spans across VR and mixed reality to simulate various public speaking situations and provide guidance to improve the performance of users.
Green Jam, U.A.E
This project aims to accelerate Dubai’s goal of being one of the world’s most sustainable cities. This is done by turning recycling into a habit for UAE citizens, through a reward system that is widely accessible from anywhere in Dubai, to all residents. The project also solves many of the problems that Dubai’s recycling attempts currently face, such as waste sorting.
E-park, Morocco
E-park’s project is a web application that allows its users to find parking spaces. The prototype uses a camera that fixes on street lamps and spots empty/full parking spaces. Users can check parking availability or book a parking space using the application.

“WaCoMo” is a complete platform that provides interactive visualisation of the water consumption happening at different outlets in a property, which in turn encourages efficient water usage.
The Revivals, Egypt
The “Revive Gate” application increases the creativity of children by converting their drawings into 3D objects. It will detect and track the 2D drawn object and generate a 3D model.
Beta Team, Oman
”Bee” is a app that is connected with beacons technology for retailers, with the aim to understand the context of the world around the app users. Bee’s goal is to enhance customer experience and empower retailers.

“Beacon” is a cloud-based emergency reporting tool that bridges the gap between technology and emergency services, while implementing a system of partnerships to provide emergency services infrastructure where it is lacking.
Diaxx, Algeria
“Prisoner of a Book” is an upcoming augmented reality game created by Diaxx Studios, which will be available as a universal Windows application, as well as an Android and an iOS application. It combines the ancient elegance of a book’s pages and the modernity of technological evolution using AR.

With interactive labs and a redefined way for students to take quizzes, Insight takes innovation to the next level and allows students to learn in a classroom environment from the comfort of their homes.
