The Director General of the Nigerian Law School, Dr. Tahir Mamman had delivered the 3rd Founder’s Week Commemorative lecture.
Titled: Rethinking Essential Toolkits of Legal Education in Nigeria, the erudite scholar dwelt extensively on the nexus between the Lecturers, the Law Students and the Study of Law in Nigerian Universities.
He decried the situation where academic programmes are largely imposed from outside whereas the conceptual and development of academic programmes and curriculum should be the responsibility of faculty members in the department.
The DG urged the government to chart a healthy passage for Nigeria’s legal education system and provide the Country with Lawyers, who on qualification may hit the ground and start walking.
He expressed confidence that Afe Babalola University, with a Founder who is bursting with passion and vision for legal education in particular, will provide a unique opportunity in ground breaking route for the provision of suitable legal education in Nigeria.
