The Founder and President of Afe Babalola University, Aare Afe Babalola today met with the academic staff of the University. In his address to the staff the Founder reminded them of the vision of the University, to lead education reform in Nigeria by example. In his characteristic manner and without mincing words he highlighted the difference between a private university and a public university. Some of these in Nigeria include the lack of personal interest by the Visitor to the public universities, unlike the private ones where the Visitor is not only personally interested in the university but does his best to ensure they do not derail from their vision. There is also the lack of accountability in public universities which must not occur in a private university like ABUAD where transparency, accountability and dedication are the watch-words. He emphasised that 100 percent loyalty to the University is expected from all the staff. Members present at the meeting expressed their joy and satisfaction at the excellent working environment in ABUAD which can be comparable to non in the country and promised to do their best to reciprocate this wonderful opportunity.
