Helping Babies Survive at ABUAD University
Helping Babies Survive at Afe Babalola University, Ekiti, Nigeria
Project C.U.R.E. has the privilege to implement Helping Babies Survive Training in collaboration with our partner Afe Babalola University located in Nigeria.
Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), a Federal Government-licensed, Non-Profit Private University opened in 2010 and in 2014 became a Project C.U.R.E. partner to open their state of the art teaching hospital. The ABUAD teaching hospital is on track to receive nine containers from Project C.U.R.E. to bolster its’ opening in 2018. You can learn more about ABUAD on their website.
One of the key goals of the newly built ABUAD Teaching Hospital is to reduce infant mortality rates in the region by establishing a training center for Helping Babies Survive (HBS). As a HBS training center ABUAD Teaching Hospital will ultimately provide training services to birth attendants located in Ekiti State as well as the surrounding states of Osun, Ondo, Kwara and Kogi.
The program developed will deliver training the three modules of HBS, deliver training materials and lifesaving tools, develop and mentor local master trainers and implement on site measurement and evaluation of learners and local Master Trainers. The ultimate goal of the training is to establish the ABUAD Teaching Hospital as a center for excellence in Helping Babies Survive.
