The Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) has indicated its preparedness to partner with Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD) in ensuring that the university’s Medical Laboratory Science programme turns out to be one of the best in Nigeria.
This will be in tandem with the history of achievements of the four-year old university which has been receiving acknowledgments, accolades and awards from national and international opinion leaders and moulders including the Executive Secretary of NUC, Prof. Julius Okojie, who described the University’s as “Certainly the Best Law College in West Africa”.
Speaking last Thursday (February 6, 2014) at a meeting with the university’s management before the commencement of the accreditation exercise for the university’s programme in Medical Laboratory Science, the Accreditation Team Leader, Prof. Anthony Emeribe, said he was not only pleased with what he has seen, he was full of commendation for the Founder, Aare Afe Babalola, SAN, for “his commitment to a beautiful vison for functional and reformatory education in Nigeria”.
His words: “With what we have seen, we are willing and well disposed to partner with your university to make your Medical Laboratory Science programme one of the best in the country”.
Earlier, the Ag. Vice Chancellor, Prof. Michael Ajisafe and Representative of the Board of Trustees (BOT), Prof. Olatunji Orubuloye, had briefed the visitors about the history of the university, what prompted Babalola into venturing into such a money guzzling venture and the monumental and towering achievements of the university within a space of four years.
The accreditation exercise saw Emeribe and his team visiting various facilities in the College of Sciences, College of Medicine and Health Sciences and ABUAD farms as well as the Federal Medical Centre, (FMC) Ido-Ekiti.
