Dr. Adebayo Ogundipe is an educator, a chartered manager, an innovative Director of Information Technology, and an Associate Professor in the Department of Finance at Afe Babalola University, Ado–Ekiti (ABUAD). His impressive academic background includes a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc. Honours) in Computer Science from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, two Master’s Degrees, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Finance with a specialization in Development and Project Finance Management as well as Financial Technology (Fintech). Currently pursuing another Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Management, Dr. Ogundipe is a distinguished professional member of various esteemed organizations.
Proficient in the use of 21st Century technology tools and programming languages, Dr. Ogundipe holds numerous professional certifications in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Scrum, Lean Six Sigma, Oracle Certified 11g Administrator, Oracle Database SQL Certified Expert, Statistics, and CompTIA certification, among others. As a faculty member at Afe Babalola University, he continues to inspire and educate students across all the seven colleges of the University and its Business School.
When seconded as the Director, of Information Communication Technology, he oversees and manages the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) of the University ranging from networking administration, web administration, infrastructure management, and security, and performs oversight functions on the University data centre for efficiency and effectiveness.
He was the Chief Mentor of Team Nigeria and led the Team Nigeria (Team LifeWatch – comprised of Afe Babalola University students) to this year’s 2015 edition of the Microsoft Imagine Cup competition to present a healthcare technological solution called Asthmavisor that will manage Asthma patients since there is no known cure for Asthma. The high-point of the solution will assist in reducing the morbidity rate thereby reducing the mortality rate and in-turns increase life expectancy. (July 2015)
He is a fellow of the Institute of Strategic Management Nigeria, a fellow of the Institute of Policy, Management, and Leadership, a professional member of the Computer Professional Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN), a member of the British Computer Society, a member, ISACA Calgary, Canada, and Associate Member, National Institute of Marketing Nigeria. Dr. Ogundipe is proficient in the use of 21st Century technology tools for cloud computing, virtualization, ubiquitous computing, wearable deployment, web development, networking, and database management and is skillful in writing programs with Java, C, and C++, Visual Basic, Pascal, Fortran, COBOL, HTML, XML among many others.
With a wealth of experience, Dr. Ogundipe has been instrumental in leading significant initiatives, including overseeing and managing the university’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT), presenting innovative healthcare technological solutions, and ensuring the continuity of academic activities during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. His commitment and leadership have contributed to the University’s enhanced reputation and top rankings in global education assessments.
As the Chairman of the University Ranking Committee, he has enhanced the University’s reputation, resulting in the University being ranked as the No. 1 best University out of 264 Universities in Nigeria for three consecutive years (2022, 2023, and 2024) and No. 142 in the world by the Times Higher Education Impact Ranking.
Dr. Ogundipe’s extensive scholarly contributions, including thirty Scopus-indexed journal articles and fifty-six journal articles in Google Scholar, demonstrate his dedication to advancing knowledge and scholarship. With a passion for technology and a love for sports, Dr. Ogundipe is a dynamic professional who continues to make a meaningful impact in academia and beyond. , Dr. Ogundipe is a scholar who has traveled extensively.
